I’m a Southern girl who loved my work as a behavior and autism specialist and spending time with my children and grandchildren. Life was full—until it took an unexpected turn.
When my youngest daughter moved to Colorado, I began visiting often. On my third trip, I met a handsome farmer (and surgical assistant), and we instantly clicked. After two years of a long-distance romance, I retired early and moved to Colorado. We were married on his beautiful ranch, surrounded by sweeping views and nature that continues to inspire me.
In retirement, while enjoying ranch life and hosting loved ones, something unexpected happened. A candle-making kit—gifted by my son and daughter-in-law—sparked a new passion. Despite having a limited sense of smell, I relied on family and friends as scent testers. After months of testing, I found the perfect wax blend: coconut apricot soy.
Today, Blue Piñon Candle Co. is a reality. My hand-poured candles with crackling wooden wicks are inspired by the spirit and beauty of Southwest Colorado. I now offer a dozen unique scents, available here and locally at:
